For the first message of 2020 and immediately before our global week of prayer, fasting and consecration, Ken looks at Isaiah 61, the connection between fasting and mourning and the promise that God makes to mourners.

Ken notes that fasting doesn’t make our prayers more powerful, nor gets God’s attention and neither does it twist his arm. When we fast we enact God’s heart by mourning what is wrong in our lives and the world. And he has made promises to those who mourn – a promise to exchange.
