Ken shares on Hebrews 11:11 and notes that Sarah didn’t give birth to Isaac because she believed a promise. The text says nothing of the sort. In fact in Genesis we see Sarah demonstrated unbelief.
Faith isn’t just belief though, its faithfulness in a covenantal context. Sarah considered God to be faithful to her because he had saved her repeatedly from the unfaithfulness of Abraham in Genesis 12 and 20.
So even though she messed up (Genesis 16) and laughed at and lied to God (Genesis 20), and even though she couldn’t comprehend the promise, she still apprehended the promise because she had experienced the faithfulness of God.
